Join us for an evening of reflection, theater, and tango music.
Dr. Gabriela Christie Toletti, playwright Dino Armas, Dr. Juan Raúl Ferreira, and other distinguished guests will present the book "On the Scene with Migration and Dictatorship: An Interdisciplinary Approach to the Work of Uruguayan Playwright Dino Armas." Following a discussion of the main topics and issues analyzed in this book, scenes from Armas’s plays and tangos mentioned in the book will be performed. Authored and compiled by Dr. Gabriela Christie Toletti, this book includes several works from the recognized Uruguayan Author Dino Armas which address issues of migration and dictatorship as well as interpretive essays written by authors who specialize in Latin American literature, theater, psychology, and history. Examining this group of texts is a way to enter Armas’s world in order to inquire into Hispanic and universal human conflicts. This book constitutes a shared stage of reflection, analysis, collaboration, and affection towards the great Dino Armas, Hispanic culture, and a universal multicultural heritage.
A book signing and reception will follow the event.
